Kitbash City
the art of robb rich
vicissitudes of construction
So let's talk about kit bashing and what kind of people are kit bashers,... Everybody, everybody in the world is a kit basher one way or another, everybody likes to mix things up and put it together their own way... Sometimes these desires can lead to some real screw ups or some real works of art. I like to kit bash and I like to show various kit bash efforts in the different ways it can be applied. Urban legend railroad scale model shows provides an opportunity to safely manipulate architecture through kit bashing, and I become a master of all I survey.
Remember my friends we are living in a fantasy world when delicately adjusting the realities of real-world scale model shows, from prospective to force perspective all these principles apply in our day-to-day lives. These considerations are especially important for clients of the urban legend railroad coffee table folk art movement.
Anyway In plain English it all means that making scale models and prototypes can be a very serious business, a lot of hard work, and some actions that require repetition that can turn out to be a boring pain in the butt. But it still has to be done, to achieve that mood striking visual stroll.
This website has its own specialties, and the art of model making, and prototype fabrication, spans many different aspects of creativity for its presentation and purpose.
The Wall Jalopy Junkman Rides Again
When planning things with clients, I try to explain things in terms of a three dimensional sketch. that means models. One of these three dimensional explanations is a contraption I call the "wall jalopy" I also call it the "mad science wall jalopy" and you can see a number of ways I use it on my YouTube videos, this is a scale model that I actually got some mileage out of in what we so often call real life... And it's constructed of 90% JUNK!
It was originally developed for a client that wanted a really unique display in his wine cellar, and at its completion, it would be a combination of mad scientist, Capt. Nemo, and the Wizard of Oz, but that client went to another world, so I brought this contraption into mine.
There will be more about this and a book I want to tell you about in my (what to read on the train... book review) section of my magazine page.
So go for it!..... checked out "Kit Bash" and "Wall Jalopy" videos coming to YouTube
